We are proud to have been among the first in Ticino to propose these courses, dedicated to both coffee enthusiasts and professionals.

Who they address

Our courses are aimed at two types of people: private coffee enthusiasts, who want to make a quantum leap in the preparation of this delicious beverage, and professionals in the catering world.

Although the basis is the same, the courses for professionals are more in-depth and take into account skills that should already have been acquired previously. In addition, professionals have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognised certification, raising their job profile through the Latte Art Grading System (LAGS) certifications.

Unfolding

All our courses are run by professional instructors who have obtained the ‘Barista Skills Professional’ diploma from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) or the ‘Latte Art Grading System Verde’ certification.

Courses are one-to-one or in groups of 2-6 people, consisting of a theoretical part and practical exercises. All courses are held in Italian.

Latte Art Course

Learn the techniques for making motifs such as a flower or a heart. The course offers a theoretical part and practical exercises.

Latte Art – For enthusiasts

Learn the essential techniques to prepare a cappuccino to perfection. Impress your housemates with spectacular milk foam decorations.

LAGS-certified courses

The courses are dedicated to real professionals who wish to obtain certification by taking specific exams with our instructor Andrea Borrelli. We are currently the only ones in Ticino to offer exams and the possibility of obtaining LAGS certification.
8 hours / CHF 500 per person

Latte Art LAGS – Preparation course

These courses are designed for real professionals who aspire to obtain certification by taking specific exams with the support of our instructor Andrea Borrelli. We are currently the only organisation in Ticino to offer both examinations and LAGS certification, guaranteeing a complete and recognised training course.

The content of the examination depends on the type of certification one wishes to pursue as will also be discussed during the preparation course, which will try to be specific in the techniques and figures that will be required during the final examination.

Objectives
Attainment of a LAGS certification based on the skills demonstrated in the preparation course Caffè Carlito gives the opportunity to pursue the following LAGS certifications according to level of difficulty:

  • White milk jug
  • Orange milk jug
  • Green milk jug

Barista Course

Discover how to make the ideal coffee: deepen your knowledge of the world of coffee in the round and learn how to master it.

Barista – For enthusiasts

We will introduce you to the various parameters that influence the success of espresso coffee and cappuccino, learn how to froth milk and prepare your tools properly.
